This photo was from a week ago. My second dress of choice. I had a mermaid seafoam green one, but I returned her. It looked more for a date or Prom.

Today it’s real. I can’t wait to see what my hair and makeup look like. Like a lot of you reading this post, I can’t believe I get to be there either. I’m nervous about it all but I’m gonna pretend I’m not, and not very well.

May the best movies, actors, casting directors, and crew members win. ❤️

I film my niece and nephew every time I walk in the front door for the first time after not seeing them for a while. It’s interesting to see their excitement wane as they get older. The first time I filmed my nephew at 2 years old when I walked through the door, he used to scream and throw himself on the floor. I’ll never forget that.

Being in Mesa, Arizona in my childhood home was so relaxing for my bones, nerves, anxiety, neck, everything. I experienced a pin drop or less of noise. Quiet has become so important to me the past few years because where I live in LA is so fuckin’ noisy. I’m subconsciously on alert and shoving earplugs in my ears some nights feels like a fake substitute.

On this trip, I visited family on my mom’s side I hadn’t seen in awhile. I hung out with my parents and I loved it. Roy took me out so many times that I felt like a princess. It was nice to not have to plan anything and have someone drag me outta the house to go do something. The only thing that was my idea was going to the jazz club The Nash in Phoenix. I’d been wanting to go for the past 10 years but never did. We found a swanky couch and I just laid there on my side, propped up on my forearm, drinking an espresso martini and listened to jazz. It felt like a music open mic I used perform at in Mesa.

I magically escaped getting sick 2 times. My amazing mom even had Covid-19 for 7 days I didn’t even catch it somehow. I had a cough the whole time I was in Arizona and micro-dosed purple Delsym the whole month. Luckily, it tastes so good it was a JOY to walk to the medicine cabinet in the kitchen, measure it out, and sip it off a metal spoon (I didn’t want to contaminate the plastic cup thingy for anyone else). I did sinus rinses every other day. For me, a person allergic to Arizona sometimes, if I left snot up there for 3 days or more, I was always on the verge of a fever, shakes, chills, etc. Then as soon as I cleared it out… I was totally fine as if nothing happened. Wow. I felt like a wise God of the Cold, controlling if I wanted to get sick or not.

He really crossed the line at Top Golf. No literally, there’s a red line you can’t cross when someone is swinging because the golf swing will hit your face.

I lost a lot. Being on the first level is hard. They kept giving extra balls and extra chances I didn’t want. It couldn’t detect I was hitting the balls. Can we move on from it still being my turn already?
